Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Welcome to the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fansite! This is a fan built resource for information, reviews, walkthroughs and cheats for the Gamecube and Wii versions of Nintendo’s masterpiece, Twilight Princess.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, or LOZTP is a action adventure game with some RPG elements. For those of you who do not know about the Legend of Zelda series, it is a fantastic series of games, and in my opinion, the best ever made. The original Legend of Zelda was a revolutionary game that came out for the Nintendo Entertainment Systems in 1986. It was a very different game for the NES than the several games already out for the system. It was revolutionary for its use of the top down perspective it pioneered, its save capability (the first game to use this feature properly thanks to its internal battery), and its wildly creative use of enemies, puzzles, boss battles, item collection, economy, secrets, and music. It was a landmark game and it is still considered to be a terrific game, and is STILL really fun to play. You can download it on the Wii service and play it on your Wii or buy it for the DS. It is a great game and very challenging.
Nintendo used its success and crafted dozens of great Legend of Zelda games throughout the year. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is considered the best game ever made for the Super Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Time and Oracle of Seasons were two games made for the Gameboy Color and are considered the best games ever made for that system. The legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is the best game on the Gameboy Advanced, and the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was the first Zelda game on the Gamecube. Its use of cell-shading, sailing, and light-hearted tone was off putting for many Zelda fans, although I loved the game and think it was really fun. The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 is widely considered to be the best game ever made and the LOZTP is the spiritual successor to that unbelievably fun game.
The Orcarina of Time was the first game to use 3d targeting, horse riding, and was a fantastic story combined with a sensationally put together combination of items, time travel, graphics, and challenge. There were hundreds of items to collects, quests to go on, and secrets to discover. It was, and still is the best game ever made. However, Nintendo tried to follow it up with The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and the Wind Waker. These are great games, but the style of both games was very different from Orcarina of Time and most of us really wanted to relive that wonderful game with the graphics power of the Gamecube/Wii. Nintendo delivered with Twilight Princess. Either the Gamecube version or the Wii Version are great. The game’s graphics and story are the same, but the targeting with the slingshot and the bow and arrow are done with the Wiimote, and you swing your sword with the Wii remote. I won’t tell you about the story, because it is more fun to play the game and find it out for yourself, but the Twilight Princess is a terrific game. You will play as Link and your goal is to save Zelda and the land of Hyrule from the Evil lord Gannon (as usual). You will also have to play the game as Link transformed into a wolf which opens up tons of unique adventures, puzzles, and abilities for Link for the first time. This site will help you through the story, which is very long and rich, and will give you some Twilight Princess Cheats, Twilight Princess FAQs, and a video Twilight Princess Walkthrough that will get you all the way to final boss battle in style with all the weapons, items, and secrets.
If you are a fan of the Zelda Series like I am, then also definitely pick up The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass, which is the successor to The Wind Waker on the DS, and the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. They use the DS stylus exclusively to move and fight with Link and are absolute blast to play. Also, keep your eyes out for the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword which is due out on November 18th, 2011 and will be a prequel to the Orcarina of Time. It is going to revolutionize Links use of the Wiimote to control his sword thrusts, and it will be Link’s first time he takes to the sky! It should be another blockbuster for Nintendo and the Legend of Zelda.
